Newly released!
We are pleased to announce the release of our report, Investment Opportunities for Increasing Forest and Fire Management Capacity in California: A Capacity and Needs Assessment of Local Groups, Non-Profits, and Tribes.

This assessment illuminates what forest and fire capacities are, why they matter, and who possesses/needs them within California. As part of the Regional Forest and Fire Capacity (RFFC) program,* the Watershed Research and Training Center recently engaged Oregon State University to assess entities active in forest and/or fire management in California. This assessment was administered as an online survey from September – October 2019, and a total of 227 usable responses were recorded. Only one response per entity was allowed, and respondents were encouraged to collaborate with their colleagues as appropriate. Respondents included: nonprofit organizations, resource conservation districts, tribes, collaborative groups, fire safe councils and more. Click on the image below to access the assessment, which contains information on our recommended next steps.

We and/or other RFFC block-grant awardees may contact you as these recommendations take further form. Thank you again to everyone who completed the assessment!
