ACCG/SOFAR Post Caldor Fire Restoration Field Tour 11/10/2022
The ACCG Monitoring workgroup and the SOFAR Landscape Design Team along with the Eldorado National Forest hosted a webinar and field tour in July focused on Post Fire Restoration. The second field tour to the Caldor Fire is planned where we will continue the discussion on fire management and post fire restoration and recovery.
The field tour will be on November 10th, 2022 and will be limited to 40 attendees. Members of ACCG and SOFAR will be given priority however we will maintain a alternates list in case some have to cancel. The field tour will be from 0800—1700 and will focus on several field sites highlighting what we have learned throughout the Post Fire Restoration Symposium. The field tour will meet either at the Amador Ranger District Office in Pioneer or the Supervisors Office in Placerville on the Eldorado National Forest. We will then meet up at our first stop and cover a range of topics such as fire management, post fire restoration planning, fuel treatment effectiveness, prescribed fire or managed fire, California Spotted Owl management, rare plants all in the context of post fire landscapes.
Please sign up here for the field tour by November 2nd (https://forms.gle/KPyDpuHQi721YUYB7) and make sure to indicate your preferences so we can plan accordingly at each unit.
We are encouraging all of you to communicate with your partners and try to carpool to the best of your ability. Please bring a lunch, hardhat, good shoes and your questions. A final agenda and logistics will be shared with the final participants prior to the field trip day.
