For those with no previous fire experience but are interested in an entry level GS3 temporary seasonal, permanent seasonal or apprentice position the basic 40 hours of training is needed to qualify. The training doesn’t have to be obtained before they apply, although it is helpful to at least be enrolled in a Basic 40 training. Eldorado Readiness Training
Our Readiness Training would provide all the required courses in a formal classroom setting, as well as hands on in the field wildland fire training and orientation. The training represents the real work environment. This includes constructing fire line for long periods and daily physical training. Wildland firefighting is a physically demanding job and so is this training.
